Welcome to the official site for the kent county short mat bowling association. Smarden short mat bowls club was formed by a group of people most of them new to bowls in 2007. Created in 1986 after members of one local club felt that there must be more to short mat bowls than just rolling up amongst themselves the east kent short mat bowls league as it was formerly known grew from strength to strength eventually changing its title from league to association. The sea front has undergone a 3 million pound facelift which has restored many of the original victorian features.
